After completion of class 12 examination a huge number of students are waiting their colleges under University of Mumbai.
The college was started to establish link between Bombay the capital of state of Maharashtra and Pune, the head office of Society, and also the link between the society and rest of the country. The foundation stone of Bombay College was laid by great champion of women's cause in India, Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve and college finally started in the year 1954. In the year 1960 (the 75th anniversary of the society) The Bombay College was renamed as Kirti M. Doongursee College.
The Junior College (std XI and XII) of Arts and Science has been attached to our college since June 1976. We have also started F.Y.J.C. (Std XI) Commerce classes from June 1980 and S.Y.J.C. (Std XII) Commerce classes from June 1981.
